This hotel was very clean, comfortable, and functional, with everything looking new and a modern decor, plus the staff was very friendly. Only difficulty was locating the hotel late at night.

Only difficulty was locating the hotel late at night. There are no streetlights, the houses are set way back from the street and the roads (while set at 25mph), are extremely winding. Would prefer to take them in daylight.

The Locust area is a small nice residential area with lots of nice small businesses. We were in the area to stay at the Tides Motor Inn. We've been here many times over the last couple of years, both before and after the change in ownership..There have been many upgrades done to the rooms including fresh paint, new flat screen plasma TV, new nicer bed linens and towels, new beds, desks, bed in side drawers .The pool area is open now, although they now charge a couple dollars to use it. It looks really nice. The pool showers and bathrooms are usable..They have a bouncy house and slide for kids..Next door to the motel is Bayville Adventure park, a small but.cool attraction.. Across the street is the beach. There are a few nice restraints within walking distance. Overall it's a decent affordable option if you need a place to stay in the area. It's not fancy but clean and decent for most part.

It was early in the season just before the beaches opened so not a lot of activity. There were some good restaurants around and an adventure park next door. We had a room with a kitchenette so we made our own breakfast. Large room with two large beds. The owners were very nice but sometimes difficult to converse with as some of the staff didn't seem to have great english, but we both managed.

A big factor was proximality to the beach. The facilities were old and maintenance was poor. It is very rundown. The managers while nice and helpful are not very trained in English and don't dress professionally. We stayed here because of location however, this hotel is in poor repair. You get what you pay for it was cheaper than the few others in the area. I will not return to this hotel.

We absolutely love Mae! We have been staying here almost every week for a year now. This is a great hotel, great value, and excellent location. We love walks along the beach, our daughter loves to play on the playground, and you may recognize the hotel in your favorite TV shows or movies. We were there when they were filming, and to see the celebrities up close was amazing.

Management is great, perfect little get away in a beautiful area. Not a 5 star luxury hotel by any means but absolutely spotless, classy, comfortable, and a good place to stay. Don’t judge the quality by the outside. Honestly cleaner than 5 stars 5x the price I’ve stayed at.
